The Acolyte's Doubled Titles
The title card for The Acolyte visually centers the theme of duality. The "O" is shaped like two overlapping circles, one blue and one red. This theme carries over into the naming scheme of the first seven episodes.
The titles for episodes 1, 2, and 6 each consist of two words, a pair of opposites, separated by a slash. Episode 1 is titled "Lost / Found"; episode 2 is titled "Revenge / Justice"; and episode 6 is titled "Teach / Corrupt".
The titles for episodes 3, 4, 5, and 7 seem to break the pattern, as each consists of only one word. Episode 3 is titled "Destiny"; episode 4 is titled "Day"; episode 5 is titled "Night"; and episode 7 is titled "Choice". However, these four titles, taken together, form two more sets of dueling opposites: they could be combined as "Day / Night" and "Destiny / Choice".
The titles for The Acolyte's first seven episodes reveal the dueling tensions that drive the series: lost vs. found, revenge vs. justice, teaching vs. corruption, day vs. night, and destiny vs. choice.
