Paz Vizsla
In "The Sin" (The Mandalorian 1.3), Din Djarin gets into an altercation with the imposing Paz Vizsla, who accuses him of cowardice. The two come to blows again in "Return of the Mandalorian" (The Book of Boba Fett 1.5), when Paz Vizsla challenges Din Djarin for possession of the Darksaber. Given his combative temperament, Paz Vizsla's name is ironic: he is always starting fights, but in Spanish and Portuguese, "paz" means "peace."
Paz Vizsla's name is a part of a tradition of ironic Mandalorian names. Their culture is built around warlikeness, but their names often point to peace. Like Din Djarin, Paz Vizsla is from Mandalore's moon, Concordia. The name "Concordia" suggests "concord" (agreement, harmony, treaty), and yet Concordia is home to a sect of zealous Mandalorians who militantly cling to their warrior heritage. It is no surprise that such a sect produces a belligerent fighter like Paz Vizsla.
