Mina and Lux Bonteri
In "Heroes on Both Sides" (The Clone Wars 3.10), Padmé Amidala and Ahsoka Tano travel across enemy lines to visit Padmé's friend, Mina Bonteri, and her son Lux. At Padmé's behest, Mina – a member of the Separatist Senate – calls for peace talks with the Republic. However, the motion is shut down and she is ultimately murdered by Count Dooku, leaving Lux to try and avenge her death. Mina and Lux's names both recall the names of characters from Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, pointing to the significance of their relationship with a sinister Count.
Several hints tie Count Dooku to Count Dracula. They share the title of "Count" and there are notable aural similarities between the names "Dooku" and "Dracula." Both villains mask their sinister nature behind an urbane, gentlemanly demeanor and dress in elegant black clothes with flowing cloaks. Moreover, in Attack of the Clones, Count Dooku is played by actor Christopher Lee, who famously played Count Dracula in several British horror films.
Mina Bonteri's name evokes Mina Murray, the heroine of Dracula. Mina and her best friend Lucy Westenra are both bitten by Count Dracula, causing them to become vampires. "Lux" means "light" in Latin; thus, it is connected to the name "Lucy," which is also derived from the Latin "lux" and means "light" or "light bringer." Like Mina and Lucy falling under the influence of Count Dracula, Mina and Lux have fallen under the influence of Count Dooku.
