Marrok
In Ahsoka, the heroes confront the former Inquisitor Marrok, who works for the Nightsister witch Moran Elsbeth. The name “Marrok” is one of many references to Arthurian legend in Ahsoka.
In Sir Thomas Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur, a “Sir Marrok” is mentioned as one of the Knights of the Round Table, who was turned into a werewolf by his wife. In a later version of the story by Allen French, the treacherous woman who turns Marrok into a werewolf is a subordinate of the witch Morgan le Fay.
Marrok’s name, then, is fitting in many ways. The design of his helmet visually evokes a medieval knight, and as a former Inquisitor, it is safe to assume that he was once a Jedi Knight. Like the Arthurian Sir Marrok, though, Marrok has fallen from his knightly status and become an enchanted monster under the sway of a witch. When Ahsoka kills Marrok in “Fallen Jedi” (Ahsoka 1.4), green Nightsister magic leaves his body, suggesting that he was being empowered or controlled by Morgan Elsbeth’s magic, much as Sir Marrok was turned into a werewolf by the magic of Morgan le Fay.
