King Rash
In the fifth season of The Clone Wars, Saw Gerrera is part of a resistance movement against the corrupt King Rash, who has allied the planet Onderon with the Separatists. Like many Star Wars villains, King Rash's name has an explicitly moral connotation, although it is not as overtly vicious as General Grievous or Savage Opress. To be "rash" – to act hastily without thinking carefully about potential consequences – is not necessarily evil. It is merely unwise.
King Rash fails to think ahead throughout his fight against Saw and the other rebels; they are always taking the initiative and he is always reacting. After the resistance wins a major battle, King Rash is surprised that Count Dooku decides to cut his losses and withdraw his forces from Onderon. Finally, he is fatally surprised when droid general Kalani executes him for his failure. Rash did not consider Dooku's character carefully when he chose his ally.
A rash person is governed by impulse or appetite rather than reason, and King Rash is always eating; almost every time he appears, he has a piece of fruit in hand. All of this implies that King Rash made his rash decision to join the Separatists in hopes of immediate personal gain, rather than thinking about the long-term good of his people.
King Rash's name draws a parallel between him and his primary enemy, Saw Gerrera. Steela Gerrera, Saw's sister, says, "He's always been rash. He never thinks." Saw is driven by his impulses and his passionate anger against those who have taken over his home, but even as he fights against King Rash, he proves to be a rash person himself. His thoughtless actions lead to the deaths of those who should be his allies: Steela and later Tech.
