Inner Space
In "Twilight of the Apprentice" (Rebels 2.21-22), Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, and Ahsoka Tano travel to the Sith Temple on the planet Malachor. The temple is located inside an enormous cavern, the ceiling of which is dotted with small holes that allow shafts of light to shine through. The effect is that the roof of the cave looks much like a starry night sky. The inside of the cave creates the illusion of being outside.
This is a fitting location for a Sith Temple in light of Anakin Skywalker's claim, in Revenge of the Sith, that the Sith "think inwards, only about themselves." The cave on Malachor is a lonely place for souls that have turned inwards on themselves. When Ezra meets Darth Maul in the lower depths of the cavern, he says in disbelief, "You live here? In the dark, alone?" Ultimately, all of the Sith live in the dark, alone.
The Sith Temple on Malachor is a direct contrast to the Jedi Temple on Lothal. Each time Ezra enters the Jedi Temple, he ends up in a field of stars. Unlike the illusory expansiveness of the cave on Malachor, though, the starfield in the Temple on Lothal is a truly limitless spiritual space – and far from being alone, whenever Ezra goes there, he is able to converse with Jedi like Yoda, even though they are not physically present. Whereas the Sith are shut up inside themselves, the Jedi's ability to connect with each other is unbounded by space and time.
