Holograms of Parents
In Andor and Rogue One, Maarva Andor and Galen Erso both appear as holograms to deliver messages that lay out the paths of their children's lives.
In "Rix Road" (Andor 1.12), a hologram of Maarva appears after her death. Through this posthumous hologram, Maarva urges the people of Ferrix to rise up and rebel against the Empire. After the death of his mother, Maarva's son Cassian Andor becomes completely devoted to the same cause that she gave her life for, following the path she would have wanted for him.
In Rogue One, a hologram of Galen appears to deliver a message after his daughter Jyn Erso has given him up for dead. Through this hologram, Galen explains how he has built a weakness into the Death Star and urges Jyn to help the Rebels destroy it. After the death of her father, Jyn becomes completely devoted to the cause of destroying the Death Star, following the path he would have wanted for her and helping to complete his life's work.
Both parents live on after their deaths by inspiring their children to commit their lives to the Rebel cause. As they are about to die on Scarif at the end of Rogue One, having completed the Rebel mission to retrieve the plans that will destroy the Death Star, Cassian tells Jyn, "Your father would be proud." The same could be said of his mother.
