Cassian and the Sea
At the end of "Daughter of Ferrix" (Andor 1.11), Cassian Andor learns of the death of his mother, Maarva Andor. As he takes in the news, Cassian looks out at the ocean and the camera racks focus away from him to the horizon, leaving him out of focus in the foreground.
At the end of Rogue One, Cassian is about to die after completing his mission to steal the Death Star plans for the Rebellion. As the Death Star detonation approaches, Cassian looks out at the ocean and the camera racks focus away from him to the horizon, leaving him out of focus in the foreground.
The moment Cassian learns of Maarva's death foreshadows his own death. It is as if Cassian is following his mother's example in dying for the Rebellion, or as if learning of his mother's death prompts him to begin contemplating his own.
